Nels J. Johnson (born 1817 in Sweden, died in 1910 in Minnesota). Nels Johnson was his official name in U.S. He was called Nels Jenson by relatives and in the church at the time he lived in America. His Swedish name before emigration was Nils Jönsson. He was father of Ellen N. Johnson and therefore Lewis N. Johnson's father in law. Nels emigrated to Minnesota with most of his family in 1867. Lewis N. Johnson (b. July 14, 1842 in Sweden). His name in Sweden before emigration was Lasse Jönsson. He married Anna Johnsdotter and Ellen N. Johnson. He emigrated to Minnesota in 1868. Presented here...

Kenneth E. Nelson (born c. 1909 in Chippewa County). Grandson of Ellen and Lewis N. Johnson. He wrote the story Memoirs of Mother (12 page pdf file) in 1964 about his mother Annie E. Nelson, her parents Ellen and Lewis N. Johnson, Here is a list of some of the persons in our family who have distinguished themselves in matters of historical or familiar interest. The list can never become complete. New persons will be added when we get more knowledge about of our family's numerious members. and Ellen's parents' Mrs. and Mr. Nels Jenson (official surname: Johnson). Dr. Kenneth J. Johnson Grandson of Ellen and Lewis N. Johnson. Kenneth got a Master of Science degree in Immunology and Bacteriology, and a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree, from the University of Minnesota. He practized in Bismarck. In World War II he served overseas in the Medical Corps, in Okinawa during combat, where he was promoted from First Lieutenant to Captain. Kenneth wrote three books on birds. He made a collection of 400 minitiature replicas of grain cars from private elevators and railroad companies which is displayed at North Dakota State Railroad Museum. He wrote a high number of specific adventures during his service in World War 2, some of them published in Bismarck Tribune, none of them yet available on this web site. Kenneth is presented here...

Nils Olsson (b. October 31, 1867 Vollsjö, Säljeröd, d. November 21, 1952 Vollsjö, Säljeröd) He spelled his name Nils Ohlsson. Farmer and member of the Swedisch Parlament Riksdagen from 1915. Nils was second cousin of Kenneth E. Nelson and Kenneth J. Johnson.
